Home invasion suspects to be arraigned

Two cousins, suspected in a violent home invasion, are still behind bars in Virginia.

Police arrested Michael and Shawn Durham Thursday afternoon in the Norton, Virginia area.

They also face charges in Boyle County for a home invasion in Junction City, and are wanted for questioning in the shooting of a Russell County sheriff's deputy.

Both Durhams are expected to appear in a Virginia courtroom Friday afternoon.

Police say they surrounded a home in Wise County, Virginia Thursday, then arrested the Durhams.

Even though the two are wanted in Kentucky, they also face burglary, larceny, and destruction of property charges in Virginia.

The Durhams had been on the run for four days, after the robbery and assault of a couple in Boyle County.

Police say the Durhams are also wanted for questioning in the shooting of Russell County Sheriff's Deputy Cary York.

Kentucky State Police say the public should still be on the lookout for a dark colored Ford Taurus, the description Deputy York gave of a car he approached Wednesday morning near Wolf Creek Dam.

Someone inside the car fired several shots at York, but the deputy survived, thanks to his bullet proof vest.

Authorities say when they caught up with the Durhams in Virginia, they found a black Ford Crown Victoria parked in the garage.

The car matches the description of one used in at least two Virginia home invasions.

Police in Virginia say the two cousins will appear in court sometime today, by video, from the Duffield Regional Jail.
