Robbery suspects arrested for violent hold-up

It was a robbery that took a frightening and violent turn.

Now a husband and wife are facing charges in the crime.

Early Wednesday morning, Danville Police arrested Arlen and Darlene Castle for Tuesday's robbery at the Cash Advance on Hustonville Road.

Police say a clerk was tied up and sexually assaulted during the robbery.

Arlen Castle now faces several charges, including robbery, sodomy, rape, kidnapping, assault, wanton endangerment, and tampering with physical evidence.

His wife, Darlene Castle, is charged with robbery.

Police say she was his accomplice in this crime.

Police arrested Arlen Castle on a warrant for not paying fines in Lincoln County.

They then searched his home in Danville.

"We found some evidence when serving the search warrant that gave us the final determination we needed to actually file the charges," Danville Police Chief Jay Newell said.

Neighbors say the couple was quiet and kept to themselves.

"She seemed like a nice woman and she got mixed up with the wrong guy," says neighbor Tina Moore.

Police say it is still too early to determine if the Castles were also the two who robbed the Sleep Outfitters just down the road from from the Cash Advance last week.
