Updated: Tue 12:21 PM, Jul 13, 2010

A Danville couple, charged in connection with a violent robbery, answered to the charges Tuesday morning in court.

Police arrested Arlen and Darlene Castle last week after the robbery at the Cash Advance on Hustonville Road in Danville.

The trial commissioner entered not guilty pleas on behalf of the Castles Tuesday.

Police say Arlen Castle came into the Cash Advance last Tuesday morning with a knife, robbed the clerk, then tied her up and sexually assaulted her.

He's now charged with rape, sodomy, kidnapping, wanton endangerment, assault, and robbery, among other charges.

Police say Darlene Castle was his accomplice. She's charged with robbery.

Both Arlen and Darlene Castle are being held in jail without bond. They're scheduled to be back in court next week for a preliminary hearing.
