American Diabetes Assoc. honors local volunteers

Lexington, KY (November 11, 2012) – The American Diabetes Association is pleased to announce the local volunteers and businesses honored for their commitment to Stop Diabetes at the 2012 American Diabetes Association Gala.

The Gala marked a 20 year movement to change the future of diabetes for all those living with the disease.  November is also American Diabetes Month, so please help honor the following individuals and businesses for their outstanding service to the community and the cause of diabetes.

  • Kentucky American Diabetes Association Hall of Fame Award – Dr. Stephen L. Pohl

  • Central Baptist Hospital Volunteer of the Year Award – Brenda Sampson

  • Central Baptist Hospital Family of the Year Award – Dr. and Mrs. L.B. Branch and Andrea Curtis

  • Corporate Partner of the Year Award – Keeneland Association

  • Lawrence T. Smith Leadership Award – Nancy Garth

  • R. Stewart Perry Cure, Care Commitment Award – Lindsey DeMoss

The American Diabetes Association is leading the fight to Stop Diabetes® and its deadly consequences and fighting for those affected by diabetes.
