Dozens of people in Danville woke up this morning to find orange paint sprayed across their cars.
Danville police say they were flooded with damage reports throughout the day.
The crime spree could end up costing the victims thousands of dollars.
People who park their cars along Third Street, among other places, were among the dozens of cases of the spray paint vandalism.
Broadway had several cars hit, and cars on Fourth and Fifth Streets were also hit. Police say the vandals didn't appear to have a pattern. One man who saw the victims' cars while taking his wife to work agrees.
"Just looking kind of random. Just a quick spray, hit and leave," said Matt Simpson.
Police believe the cars were vandalized between 11 Tuesday night and 6:30 this morning.
"The vehicles I saw with with spray paint seem to be a straight line across the tailgates on both sides of the road. I probably saw least four vehicles," said Simpson.
Police say some people were lucky enough and could wipe the paint off right after it happened. Others were not.
As for right now, police don't have any leads in the case, but hope someone who saw something out there will come forward with information.
