DANVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A Boyle County Food Bank can keep it's doors open a few days longer, thanks to generous donations.
Officials with Harvesting Hope planned to shut their doors on December 20th, after managers said they were running low on funds and couldn't afford to stay open.
After a story on WKYT, we're told the Food Bank received enough donations to remain open for another month.
Harvesting Hope Manager Victoria Murphy told WKYT they would need $5,000 to make that happen. The organization runs entirely off donations, they lost their biggest donors in October, and have been struggling ever since.
She says volunteering at the pantry is a rewarding experience and hopes they can continue to help the community.
Donations can be dropped off any day during the week, until the pantry closes. After the closure, donations can be sent to P.O. Box 2053 Danville, KY 40423 - 0410.
