The effort by two Kentucky schools to host a presidential debate will take a big step forward Thursday.
It is the deadline for venues wanting to host the event before the 2012 presidential election.
Earlier this week, Eastern Kentucky University officials held a news conference, saying the school's new center for the arts showcases its ability to host a debate.
Centre College in Danville also wants to host a debate.
The school hosted a vice-presidential debate in 2000.
