As a child, Holly Henson performed on stage at the Pioneer Playhouse. After many year of being on stage Henson decided to reverse roles.

"She is just like my father, so once he passed it was kind of fitting that she stepped into his role," explains Heather Henson, Holly's sister. Holly became artistic director in 2004 after her father passed.
The Henson's father started the Pioneer Playhouse 63 years ago. "He built the entire place from the ground up with his bare hands," explains Heather, "we are all passionate about this place but this was Holly's entire life. From the time she was in diapers to right before she died, the Playhouse was her main focus and passion."

Holly Henson died Sunday night at her home after a long battle with breast cancer. She was 51 years old. Her funeral will be held on Sunday at the Playhouse.
