The snow started falling early in Danville this morning and accumulated quickly.
"Snow plows were going, but it was coming down faster than was doing any good really," says Debbie Muse, out driving.
Plows and salt trucks hit the roads early, clearing what they could, but for drivers battling the wintry mess, getting around was quite a task.
"It was really slick on the way to work, we all had trouble getting into work this morning," says Ricky Shelton.
The slush and snow covered streets kept traffic at a sluggish pace.
"Everybody was taking time and moving pretty slow," Muse says.
She says this winter in one of the worst she's experienced in quite a while
"It seems like we've had more snow this winter than in a long time."
Many agree the blanket of white covering Danville is pretty, but for the most part, folks here are ready to see winter move on and welcome in some warmer weather.
"I'm tired of it. I'm ready for warm weather, ready for 50 degree weather at least," Shelton says.
Danville Police worked a few weather-related accidents, but they were all non-injury.
