The crash happened over the weekend on the bypass in Danville. While officials are still waiting to confirm the identity of the man, friends and family members tell NEWSFIRST the victim is Joe Herndon, 20, of Danville.

"I'm still waiting for positive identification," said Jacob Herndon. "But, it's definitely him, I just know it."

Jacob Herndon says the car involved in the crash a whilte Chevy Impala is the car his brother drove, and nobody has heard from his brother since just before emergency personnel were called to the crash site.

"I thought if something like this happened. I'd be a lot stronger about it, but when it does, it's really hard," said Herndon.

He says, Joe was a recent graduate of Danville High school and had a love for music. But Jacob says his brother's biggest love was for his 1.5 year-old son.

"He will be so missed, and right now, I can't imagine him not being around," he said.

The Boyle County Coroner said it will still take a few days to confirm if the victim is the 20-year-old father of one.

Authorities have not said for sure, if speed or slick roads played a role in the deadly crash. But said, one or both factors likely were involved.
