Police say a burglar was lucky he wasn't seriously hurt when he broke into a home and awakened the homeowner early Wednesday.
Danville Police say Andrew Backfisch opened the door of an unlocked truck on West Lexington Avenue and found a set of keys.
Police say Backfisch used the keys to break into a home.
He was then confronted by the homeowner, who was awakened by his dogs.
Police say a fight then ensued, and Backfisch was knocked unresponsive.
The homeowner held Backfisch down until police arrived.
Backfisch is in jail charged with burglary, theft and forgery. Police say he removed some camera equipment and a personal check from the truck.
Police say Backfisch was intoxicated at the time.
