An elderly man was able to scare away an intruder who broke into his home.
The homeowner, 74-year-old Arnold Davidson, told 27 NEWSFIRST he woke up to the burglar in his bedroom just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.
The burglar kicked in the front door of the home on Tank Pond Road in Junction City.
"I jumped out of my bed when I see him come through the door," Davidson said.
Davidson said he saw a masked man, who demanded money, and told Davidson to lay back down.
Davidson says instead, he reached for something to protect himself.
"I thought I had a knife or something and I reached for it, and it was a pair of nail clippers," Davidson said.
Davidson said the intruder did not appear to have a weapon on him. Shortly after, Davidson decided to run off.
"I just scooted on out of there," Davidson said.
Once outside, Davidson says he yelled for help. He says that scared the burglar away.
The victim says he was only able to see the burglar's eyes. Nothing was stolen.
So far, police have not made any arrests.
