A man is in jail after police say he intentionally rammed his car into another car with a woman inside.
We’re told it happened on Saturday at the Holladay Square Apartment Complex in Danville.
Gregory Moore of Danville says the story is simple; on Saturday, he says he got into a fight with his friend over money.
“I wanted my money and she didn’t have it and that’s how it all started,” Moore told us from jail.
Then, he says, he tried to prove a point to Veanita Smith by harming something she owned.
“I ran into her car and that’s it. I didn’t damage that car and the police know I didn’t damage that car.”
Police say Moore rammed into Smith’s car several times in the parking lot but Moore said he barely even hit Smith’s car before taking off.
But Moore says the biggest misunderstanding is that there were kids in her car when he ran into it.
“I didn’t see any kids. There were all adults. I didn’t see any kids there.”
We spoke with the victim, Veanita Smith, on the phone Sunday afternoon and she also said her kids weren't involved in the incident.
But she said Moore did try to run her over.
“For sure I know that I didn’t try to physically hurt her with my car.”
The police report also states that Moore was driving under the influence; Moore denies that as well.
“I was angry a little bit but I was not intoxicated.”
Thankfully, no one was hurt and Moore tells us he'll think twice before trying to prove his point again.
Gregory Moore is currently being held in the Boyle County Detention Center.
He is charged with DUI and wanton endangerment.
