Tuesday morning Danville Police rushed to a home on East Walnut,
after a neighbor called telling them a thief was inside. Police say they found Ronald Hawkins II there, a man who had been arrested by police before for stealing from homes in southern Danville.
"It's really uncommon for us to actually see someone who's out on bond awaiting charges to be charged with the same offense. It doesn't happen very often," says Danville Police Chief Jay Newell.
Police Chief Jay Newell says there was no question in his mind Hawkins had hit again. The homeowner identified the jewelry as her
own, and Hawkins went to jail again.
Hawkins was arrested last summer after police say he broke into seven homes in Danville.
He was later released from jail after posting bond.
