The Board of Directors of Blue Grass Energy is pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Fritz as director for District 3. He fills the remaining term of former director E.A. “Ned” Gilbert.
In accordance with board policies, a list of qualified candidates was presented for consideration. After completing the review process, Fritz was selected for the remainder of Gilbert’s unexpired term.
Having a banking career spanning over 40 years, Fritz recently retired from Central Bank & Trust Company where he was a vice president and trust officer. During his career, he served in various financial leadership roles for several banks.
Prior to banking, he served with a training unit in the United States Army. After active service, he obtained a B.A. in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University and remained in the Army Reserves for 22 years.
Fritz lives on a 50-acre farm in Paint Lick with his wife Judy King Fritz. He serves as treasurer and deacon at Wallaceton Baptist Church. When not farming or traveling, Fritz enjoys serving his community as the public address announcer for Eastern Kentucky University women’s basketball program as well as local area high schools.
The Board of Directors looks forward to the experience Fritz brings to the cooperative.
