Murder case moves forward

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - The case of a Floyd County couple facing charges in a March murder is moving forward.

The Floyd County Times reports Ronald and Loretta Wright were indicted earlier this week by a grand jury.

Police say Ronald shot and killed Famer Halbert and injured his wife Lorene when they were visiting the couple.

Officials say seven children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - A judge lowered the bond of a Floyd County murder suspect Tuesday.

Ronald Wright is accused of killing Famer Halbert last month and attempting to kill Halbert's wife Lorene.

Wright's bond was set at $1 million, but his attorney asked the judge to lower it to a more manageable amount.

The judge agreed that Wright is not a flight risk and lowered his bond to $500,000.

Wright's wife Loretta is also charged with attempted murder.
