PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - People in Floyd County came together Wednesday to discuss ways to help stop human trafficking in their community.

The workshop was held at the Wilkinson-Stumbo Convention Center at Jenny Wiley State Park.

Marissa Castellanos with Catholic Charities of Louisville was Wednesday's presenter.

She discussed ways to identify human trafficking and what steps to take if human trafficking occurs.

"You need to look beneath the surface. Look beyond what's obviously happening to see what is going on beneath that because trafficking crimes happen all around us, and we just don't see it or notice that's what it is," said Castellanos.

Officials with Catholic Charities of Louisville travel across the commonwealth to discuss the issue.
