PRESTOSNBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - A joint investigation by Kentucky State Police, Prestonsburg Police, Floyd County Detention Center, and The Attorney General's Office led to the arrest of two men on Thursday.
Jail officials say they got word of a possible drug deal and began investigating.
After the arrests, Jailer Cheyenne McKinney, searched the facility and found drugs within the jail.
McKinney says, "It is great for the jail. Inmates are always trying to smuggle stuff into the jail so anything we can do to stop that or I don't know if that can be stopped but anything we can catch is an improvement. We want to keep it all out if possible and catch what we can."
Officials are not releasing the names of the two men arrested until the investigation is complete.
