PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WYMT) - Monday was a special day for one veteran in Prestonsburg.
Jay Cox turned 104 years old and is the oldest living World War II Veteran at the VA Outpatient Clinic in Prestonsburg.
Nurses and doctors at the clinic say Cox has become very special to them over the years.
Cox's family members were also at the birthday party. Cox's daughter, Bonnie Moore says, "It is very special, he has lived a very long, very healthy life, and he loves it. Everybody acknowledges him and we appreciate it very much."
Several other veterans were at the celebration and honored Cox with a 21-gun salute.
