The manager of a central Kentucky animal shelter that mistook a dog for a coyote has stepped down.
The Frankfort State-Journal reports Regina McDaniel announced her resignation Saturday.
McDaniel faced criticism after police brought a Shiba Inu named Copper to the Franklin County Animal Shelter last month.
The dog was misidentified as a coyote and released into the woods.
