Gas station robbed at gunpoint

An investigation is underway after police say a man robbed a central Kentucky gas station at gunpoint.

The robbery happened around 7:30 Sunday morning at the Swifty Oil station on Versailles Road in Frankfort.

Frankfort Police say the suspect knocked on the door of the business. When an employee opened the door, police say the robber showed a handgun and demanded money.

After getting some money, police say the robbery ran off.

Police say the suspect is a black man, in his 30's, who was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt or sweater and jeans.

If you have any information, you're asked to call Frankfort Crime Stoppers at 502-875-8648. A reward of up to $1,000 may be offered in the case.
