Drivers on a stretch of Interstate 64 in central Kentucky will soon notice some changes, designed to improve safety.
Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet say median cable barriers will be installed on a more than eight mile stretch of I-64 in Franklin and Woodford Counties.
Work is scheduled to begin July 7, and is expected to be complete by August 15.
Cable barriers will be installed between mile point 57.2 in Franklin County and mile point 65.7 in Woodford County.
During construction, officials say lane closures will be possible Sundays through Thursdays from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. Shoulder closures may be in place during the daytime hours as well.
Also in the coming weeks, crews will install cable barriers on a stretch of Interstate 65 in Bullitt County.
