A crash in Franklin County killed a teenager Monday night.
The coroner has identified the victim as 16-year-old Joseph Curtis.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. Monday on Mills Lane.
Kentucky State Police say Curtis, who was driving a Kia Sorento, crested a hill, then overcorrected while trying to avoid hitting another vehicle.
Police say the SUV then left the road, hit a plank fence, and overturned several times.
Police say Curtis was ejected, and died at the scene. Police also say he was not wearing his seat belt.
Curtis' sister, Sandra Curtis, was a passenger in the car. She was injured and taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center, where she was listed in fair condition Tuesday afternoon.
Grief counselors were on hand Tuesday at Wilkinson Street School in Frankfort, where Joseph Curtis was a student.
"He was liked by all, caused no problems here, did what we asked, so it makes it tough on everybody," says Wilkinson Street School Director Alan Spade.
