A group of Kentucky missionaries who have been in Haiti since the earthquake hit are now heading back to the bluegrass.
The group from Capital City Christian Church in Frankfort was in the country on a mission trip.
After days of trying to get a flight out of Haiti, the group finally left the country for the Dominican Republic.
"We just weren't sure how we were going to get them out," explained Jon Sutphin, pastor of the church. "We tried a couple of different avenues; we thought we had a boat, but when it arrived the group realized it probably wasn't the safest way to transport 14 people."
The group finally got some sport utility vehicles on Sunday.
Twelve of the 14 members in the group will fly to Cincinnati Tuesday night. The other two will arrive there Wednesday.
