Arrests in shooting of KSU player

Frankfort Police have arrested two men for the shooting of a KSU basketball player. Police arrested 20-year-old Garry Cooper of Chicago on a charge of assault and wanton endangerment, in connection with the January 18th shooting of Patrick Dawson. They also arrested 21-year-old Jarrell Hightower for assault and wanton endangerment.

Dawson, a Kentucky State University student and member of the basketball team, was shot on Landings Drive.

Police say Cooper and Hightower’s arrests were a result of a grand jury indictment. Police say Cooper was in Frankfort to attend Kentucky State University and Hightower was a student.
