Bluegrass still dealing with power outages from Tuesday storm

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - There are still multiple power outages across the region after Tuesday night's ice storm.

LG& E and Kentucky Utilities had 1,926 customers affected by power outages on Thursday morning. Lexington had about 125 customers without power. Jefferson County still had more than 1,200.

As of 9 a.m. Thursday, Blue Grass Energy had 19 outages, with about 242 customers without power. Franklin County had about 200 of those outages.

There are still 340 homes without power in Garrard County.
Inter-County Energy has extra man power to repair these problems. They anticipate on having most, if not all, power back on in Garrard County by late Thursday. The warming center at Lancaster Baptist Life Center is still open for anyone who needs warmth or power.

The Public Service Commission of Kentucky says that Inter-County Energy still had 1990 outages in Lincoln County as of midnight.

According to the PSC, the total number of outages statewide as of 9:30 am Thursday is 15,500. That's down from a peak of 70,000 late Tuesday, early Wednesday. The largest remaining outages are in the northeastern part of Kentucky.
