CVE Officer remembered in Frankfort

"I just can't believe he's gone really, I just can't believe he's gone," said Jason Cammack's mother, Kela.

Family and fellow officers pay tribute.

"We all support the black bands this week. It just let's us know that officers before us, out there protecting us, doing their jobs putting their lives on the line everyday," said colleague Steve Oliver.

Remembering the life of officer jason cammack, who died after he lost control of his vehicle on I-64 on Easter Sunday 12 years ago.

"This would mean a lot to him, to know that everybody is here for him, family and all his officer friends," said Cammack.

His mother shared a memory of her son, a conversation had the night before the accident.

"Said momma, I've got it all. Said I've got my family, I've got the woman I love, got my little baby, and I've got my home, and I've got my Lord," remembered Cammack.

This is one of 26 ceremonies statewide that are going on to honor fallen officers.
