A man who hit a police officer with his car is facing new charges.
49-year old Russell Wheat went in front of a judge Thursday morning in Frankfort. He's accused of driving on a DUI suspended license.
Surveillance cameras were rolling back in February when Wheat hit Frankfort Police Officer Byron Redmon with his car. Wheat pleaded guilty in July to that incident.
He was out of jail awaiting sentencing in the case, when Officer Redmon spotted Wheat driving on August 14th. Wheat was charged with driving on a DUI suspended license, possession of a canceled/fictitious license, and failure to surrender a revoked license.
Wheat is scheduled to be sentenced in the original case on September 2nd.
