The storms that blew through Central Kentucky Tuesdays heavily damaged a building in Frankfort. The two businesses that were located there have had to move.
Most of the building, located at the Self Storage Center, is on the ground, or on the roof of a neighboring business. It was just after noon yesterday when the sky got dark over the complex that was home to KB Construction.
" Went over to shut the door, as soon as I got the door about three quarters of the way down the roof started peeling off over our heads," said Kevin Breeck, owner of KB Construction.
Breeck and another worker ran to the office to wait out the storm but say the worst of it was over in a moment.
The owner of the building says he's waiting on his insurance company for an estimate on the damage, but he says the repairs will easily be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Late Wednesday morning the National Weather Service confirmed it was 65 mile-per-hour straight line winds that caused that damage.
