A sheriff's deputy is recovering after investigators say he was injured while trying to keep a pregnant woman from hurting herself.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says 28-year-old Denise Higdon-Lewis cut Deputy Stephen Campbell in the hand with a knife during a struggle at a home on Shenandoah Drive in Frankfort Friday afternoon.
Investigators say Campbell drove himself to the hospital to be treated.
The sheriff's office charged Higdon-Lewis with assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct.
