FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Wednesday night's storms left plenty of debris for people to clean up in Frankfort.
There were downed trees and limb on South Benson Road in Franklin County. The Franklin County Road Department worked to clear trees off the roadway and get them back open. One homeowner, who was out in his yard clearing debris, says he will probably be hard at work for the rest of the day.
"We have a lot of branches down, couple things fell on the cars and the cleanup, I think, is going to take all summer, the way it looks right now," said homeowner, Magnus Geijer.
The homeowner we talked to said Wednesday night's storm was so bad, that he had to take shelter in his basement. In one case, the winds were so strong that they knocked down metal handicapped parking signs.
The cable company is also working to restore service to customers in that area.
