Gas station robbed for second time in a week

The Circle K on Schenkel Lane in Frankfort has been robbed two times in three days. A clerk who was attacked during the first robbery was also there for the second.

The first robbery was late Monday night. A man and two women entered the gas station and sprayed bug spray into the face of the clerk who was working alone. They got away with some cash and ran away.

The second robbery happened Wednesday night. One man, armed with a gun and wearing a ski mask, came in just after 10 p.m. while there were three clerks on duty, including the woman who had been robbed Monday night. The robber got some cash and ran off. The female clerk hid behind the counter until police arrived, shaken up after this latest experience.

Police were in the area when the clerks called for help.

"They were there within two minutes. They brought out search dogs but couldn't locate the robber," said Major Fred Deaton with Frankfort Police.

Frankfort Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information leading to arrests in both cases. Their tip line is 502-875-8648.
