Frankfort police charge second man in murder case

Frankfort police have already charged one man from Detroit in connection with this case, now a second man from that city has been charged with murder for the death of Obie Murphy.

The US Marshals are assisting in the search for 38 year-old Marquis Sims. Frankfort police say he was the one who shot and killed Murphy back in September. A second man who was involved, Robert Witkowski, was caught in October and was originally charged with complicity to commit murder. He plead guilty to a lesser charge of Assault under extreme emotional disturbance. He was released before his sentencing and never returned.

Now police are looking for both men, one to face a murder charge and the other to face jail time. Police say the search will stretch across multiple states.

"Although they do have Michigan addresses we understand there are connections to the Frankfort and Central Kentucky area and we are pursuing leads," said Major Fred Deaton of the Frankfort Police.

A reward is being offered for information leading to these men. Frankfort police say they should be considered dangerous and if you see them call police.
