FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Franklin County saw about a half an inch of snow Thursday morning and more is in the forecast.
The first round of winter weather created some slick roads in the county.
"We went out and pre-treated a little and then it rained more and washed it away," said Road Superintendent Randy Thompson.
Thompson says they'll wait for the second round of snow to cover roads before they go out again.
"We've got a great team with city, county, and state road crews. They are out in full force working to make sure that the roadways stay clear,” said Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton.
The sheriff’s office didn't respond to any accidents during the initial round of winter weather. There were a couple of accidents in the evening. No one was injured.
