Sheriff's Deputies are hoping you'll flip the switch on your remote and tune into the local cable public access channel 27 to see Franklin County's most wanted.
"We went from 16 sets of eyes to several thousand sets of eyes now, looking across the community and the community's really embracing that;" Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton explained.
In the last 6 weeks, Sheriff Melton says they've arrested 26 people on the most wanted list and had about 300 text alert tips to their anonymous text line. He also says they've had dozens more phone calls to their office.
"We had a $750,000 theft burglary that I thought there was no way we'd get anything to it and all of a sudden, we got tips coming in;" he said.
Occasionally, those on the most wanted list are camera shy.
"We've had people come in and say 'get me off TV, I wanna turn myself in,'" Melton explained.
Melton says offenses range from non-payment of fines to assaults and burglaries and in every case, they'd like to see arrests.
"I want to make sure we make Frankfort a better place to live, work and play."
He's also hoping local bars and restaurants will keep at least one TV on the local access channel to help raise awareness.
