A recent rash of robberies has workers in one town on alert. A clerk at a Frankfort gas station says he was robbed and assaulted Tuesday, the second time in a month he's been attacked by the same crook.
Employees think the same man has hit other businesses as well.
"No words, not, give me the money or don't move, nothing," said Travis Counts. "He just wildly started attacking me."
Counts' says he's almost positive the man who attacked and robbed him at the Swifty Gas on Versailles Road in Frankfort this week, is the same man who robbed him at the store last month.
"He entered the building, shoved me from behind. I turned around went to hit me in the face, and I caught a glancing blow to my left cheek," Counts said.
Counts says the man was wearing the same black hooded sweatshirt and black baggy pants in both robberies.
What makes this crime different from the one in August he says, is the fact the suspect came in the middle of the afternoon, compared to the middle of the night last time.
"I just really hope they catch this guy and get him off the streets, you cannot just go around robbing hardworking people and get away with it," he said.
His co-workers share the same feeling.
"Yes, every time you go out, you have to look both ways, to make sure nobody's there," said John Traylor.
Traylor another clerk at the Swifty, is hopeful for results soon.
"If it is the same guy, I just hope they get him, cause I don't feel like being paranoid much longer," Traylor said.
In this most recent robbery, Counts says, the suspect got away with about $160 in cash.
Frankfort Police are looking into the possibility the same man is behind other gas station robberies in the Capital City in recent months.
