I-64 westbound was shutdown Friday morning in Frankfort.
The shutdown happened after two tractor trailers overturned.
The accident happened just before exit 48 on Westbound I-64. The Franklin County Sheriff says the first driver had some mechanical troubles just before five this morning.
"Said it had been jerking to the right a little bit, it jerked to the right and he ended up going off and winding up on that embankment and overturning," said Sheriff Pat Melton.
The trailer of that semi ended up across the interstate. A second semi driver came upon the accident and tried to avoid it.
"It was raining, the shoulders were obviously soft from storms all night, he thought he was going to wreck so that's why he took the evasive action and flipped," Melton said.
No other vehicles were involved and both drivers were uninjured.
The road reopened a little after nine this morning.
