FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - More than 600 people in Franklin County woke up Wednesday morning without power. Crews from Blue Grass Energy spent the day repairing lines and clearing trees.
Pat Maupin was one of the many people to lose power. Not having electricity is a greater concern for her because she is on oxygen.
"I miss my electric when I can't breathe," explained Maupin.
A tree took out the power supply to Roni McCutheon's home around 10 p.m. To make the situation worse, a different tree fell and blocked her driveway. Her home dropped to 58 degrees in the afternoon, while the power was out. Her family relied on their fireplace to stay warm inside, while workers made repairs outside.
"I'm out of my stock of firewood. I have to go restock," said McCuctheon.
At one point, 7,000 Blue Grass Energy customers across 23 counties were without power after the storm.
