Ahead of potential severe weather, many Kentucky universities canceled classes.
At the University of Kentucky classes scheduled 3 p.m. or later have been canceled. Employees were also dismissed at 3 p.m.
Hospitals and clinics at the university are staying open but all campus activities after 3 p.m. were canceled.
At Kentucky State University, afternoon and evening classes were canceled due to inclement weather.
The Frankfort campus closed at 2:30 p.m.
