Prison escapees captured

Authorities captured two prison escapees Monday afternoon in Casey County.

Police say they got a tip the two escapees where in the area after they walked away from the Frankfort Career Development Center Sunday night.

Two Casey County deputies were reportedly patrolling on Henson Creek when corrections officials say the inmates in a stolen truck. Authorities say the escapees tried to run the deputies down.

The deputies opened fire, but no one was hurt. Both men surrendered. The Kentucky Department of Corrections is recognizing what it is calling the bravery of the deputies.

Timothy Hogue and William Richardson are now facing additional charges of theft, escape and wanton endangerment.

Richardson was serving a 19 year sentence on burglary charges and Hogue was serving a 20 year sentence for drug charges. Both were minimum-security inmates.
