A Franklin County Sheriff's deputy is recovering after a deer crashed into his cruiser early Thursday.
It happened around 2:30 a.m. on U.S. 127 near Steer Branch Road in the northern part of Franklin County.
Investigators say the deputy was responding to a backup call when a deer ran into the path of his cruiser.
The deputy was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
The deputy is now at home.
His name hasn't been released.
