Police are investigating a crash on Interstate 64 in Franklin County that killed three people Monday afternoon.
The accident happened just after 1 p.m. in the westbound lanes at mile marker 50.
Kentucky State Police aren't sure yet what caused the accident, but they say only one vehicle, a Chevy Trailblazer was involved.
They say the vehicle lost control, and crossed into the emergency lane and a ditch, before getting back on the road, crossing both lanes, and finally crashing into some trees.
The names of the victims have not been released, but police say a man, woman, and an infant were killed.
Police say the infant was between 6 and 9 months old.
We're told the victims are not from Kentucky.
Police are trying to reach family members of the victims before releasing their names.
Police say all three victims were buckled up. They do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.
Police had the westbound lanes reopened by 5 p.m.
