FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - Lt. Gov. Jerry Abramson says three state programs have received an honor for their environmental contributions.
Abramson said the Environmental Protection Agency awarded the 2012 Energy Star Partner of the Year to Kentucky state government, the Kentucky Housing Corporation and the Kentucky Pollution Prevention Center.
He says the programs were honored for delivering information and services to Kentucky residents that increased energy efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
Abramson said it is exciting that Kentucky has received the honor for its efforts "to lead the nation in a progressive action on energy reduction and savings."
