A woman says three masked men broke into her home, stealing her purse during a home invasion late Thursday night.

Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton says it started with a knock on the door, "She said, 'come in.' All of the sudden three subjects entered armed with guns."

The sheriff says the woman didn't immediately comply with the robbers when they broke into her home on Manley Leestown Road just before 10:30 p.m.

That is when one robber fired a shot into the floor.

The woman told police she was then assaulted and bound with duct tape.

The sheriff says all of this took place while children were in the house.

"They had been put to bed, and they were asleep when this happened."

The robbers got away with the woman's purse and cell phone.

Police have recovered the cell phone and hope a unique description of one of the robbers will lead to their capture.

Melton says, "He had an abnormal left eye, lazy eye or something like that."

So far, there have been no arrests in the case.
