A hospital in Scott County has a new leader.

Georgetown Community Hospital named Jerry Dooley as its new CEO this week, effective immediately.

Hospital officials say Dooley had served as interim CEO for the hospital since last October.

"Jerry brings the experience and leadership skills needed to move Georgetown Community Hospital forward in the future," Tom Weiss, President of the Continental Division of LifePoint Hospitals, of which the hospital is a part, said in a news release. "Jerry has done an outstanding job of leading the hospital during his tenure as interim CEO. He will continue to be a tremendous asset to the hospital and the community."

Hospital officials say Dooley has previously served as CEO of hospitals in Indiana and Illinois.
