The Bengals and Georgetown (Ky.) College have agreed on a one-year extension of the team’s contract to hold training camp at the college’s East Campus Athletic Complex. The agreement now runs through 2010.
“Georgetown College and the Bengals continue to have an excellent relationship,” said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, whose team reported for the 2009 camp this past Thursday. “We’re excited about this year and happy to announce the plans for 2010.
“We’re convinced of the benefits of starting our season in a camp situation, where everyone is working, eating and living together for several weeks. And as we’ve noted many times, the complex here is perfect for all those needs, with a great staff who have become our friends as well as co-workers.”
The Bengals have held training camp in Georgetown since 1997.
“We like to think the relationship gets better each year,” said Eric Ward, Georgetown College athletic director. “For now, we’re focused on having a great 2009.”
