A former basketball player, who police say can't seem to stay on the right side of the law, is back in jail.
Former Scott County High School standout Bud Mackey was booked late this afternoon on new assault and robbery charges.
He's on probation for gun charges in Lexington.
Police say Mackey came to the sheriff's office willingly to get served an emergency protective order filed by the mother of his child.
What deputies say he didn't realize was there was a warrant out for his arrest, stemming from a robbery and assault on April 30th.
In that, police say Mackey and three others approached the victim while the victim was sitting in his car at Royal Spring, the park next to the water treatment facility.
According to the warrant, Mackey attacked the victim, threatened him with a small black pistol and robbed him of $520.
Sheriff's deputies say when they tried to serve the warrant, Mackey ran.
He was later caught by deputies.
In addition to the robbery and assault charges, Mackey now faces another assault charge for hitting a police officer, escape and criminal mischief.
