Police investigating a theft end up finding much more. Scott County Sheriff's Office, along with Kentucky State Police, say they uncovered more than twenty thousand dollars in stolen merchandise and drugs. The items were recovered from several locations around Scott County. Many of the items were found at a property on Burgess Smith Road.
Investigators say they initially got a tip from someone who saw their stolen things in a Georgetown pawn shop.
Don Adams Jr., Joshua Phillips, Daniel Wayne Breach, and Rita House are all now charged with receiving stolen property. Adams is also facing other charges stemming from outstanding warrants.
While at the property on Burgess Smith Road, investigators say they also found a working meth lab. That part of the investigation led to the arrest of Randall Hicks. He's now charged with fleeing, meth possession, and drug paraphernalia possession.
Beau Haddock spent the afternoon with deputies identifying his stolen property.
"It makes you nervous. When there's a sense of community out there anyway. It relieves us all now to know it's back. It's always an invasion, you feel insecure about things. I think things will feel a lot better now," says Haddock.
