Deputy jailer charged with giving drugs to inmates

Jessica Wilson is a part-time guard at the Scott County Detention Center. Georgetown police arrested her Friday morning after an investigator watched her take pills from someone outside the jail, put them in her pocket, and walk right in.

The arrest citation states Wilson admitted to investigators, she received eight Percocets Friday and she was going to give them to an inmate. She put those pills in her jacket pocket, and walked right into the detention center with them Friday morning. Georgetown police say it is very early on in their investigation. They do not know if they will file other charges. They are still sorting through what they've uncovered, and what Wilson has admitted to their detectives. She is currently charged with promoting contraband. Detectives booked her in a facility outside Scott County.

"She's been there as a deputy jailer. You would not want to introduce her in the population inside the detention center. That's why we lodged her elsewhere other than the Scott County Jail," said Lieutenant Robert Swanigan.

Scott County Jailer Larry Covington has no comment at this time.
