This weekend marks a somber anniversary for a central Kentucky family. Saturday it will be two years since a Scott County bus driver was found dead in her home.

Investigators ruled Sue Jones' death a murder. Despite many tips and a reward police still haven't made an arrest for the crime.

Two years after police found Sue Jones murdered in her home, her son still has moments when the memories are as strong as ever. "When I'm cooking in the kitchen," Tommy Kidwell remembered, "every day she would come out, 'what you cooking today?' 'Cause she would smell that food in the bedroom, and she'd come straight out and eat."

It's those moments when it's hard for Kidwell to believe his mother is gone. "I cook a lot, so, yeah, when I'm cooking I semi- look for her to come out that door and ask me what I'm cooking. Yeah, I definitely got a good memory right there."

While the case remains an open investigation, the victim's loved ones sometimes feel they know little more today than they did when Jones' home was still an active crime scene. "That's where everybody congregated, so now everybody's on their own," Kidwell said, "The whole family is pretty much separated now. Everybody's in their own little clans."

Throughout it all Kidwell remains confident police will someday solve the crime, but he knows they can't do it without the public's help. That's why he encourages anyone with any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem to them, to come forward. "They ought to look into their heart and come forward and tell somebody something, anything that they know."

Kentucky State Police continue to handle the investigation. Last September, Scott County sheriff's deputies began helping detectives with the case.
